Every great tree begins as something small, almost unnoticeable—an acorn.
At first glance, an acorn doesn’t look like much. It fits in the palm of your hand. It’s easy to overlook, easy to dismiss, and easy to underestimate. Yet hidden inside that small seed is the full potential of a mighty oak tree—strong, steady, and able to stand through seasons of storms, growth, and time.
And in the same way, that’s where you may find yourself today.
You may feel small.
You may feel unseen.
You may wonder if what you carry really matters.
But just like the acorn, there is more in you than meets the eye.
God has already placed purpose inside of you: gifts, calling, and strength that may not yet be fully visible, but are very real. What feels like a beginning to you is not insignificant… It's intentional. It’s the starting place of something that can grow deep roots and make a lasting impact.
An acorn doesn’t become an oak overnight. It takes time in the soil, hidden seasons, and the right conditions to grow. In the same way, your life is in a process. The quiet seasons, the stretching, even the challenges, they are all part of what God uses to develop strength in you.
You are not “just” where you are.
You are becoming who you were created to be.You are an acorn… with a purpose far greater than you can currently see.
The acorn represents potential, God-given potential placed inside each of us. So often, we wait until we feel “ready,” “qualified,” or “big enough” to begin. But God doesn’t start with big. He starts who is willing. He starts with one step. He starts with us seeing ourselves as He sees us, not the lies that we believe about ourselves.
Jesus reminds us:
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” (Zechariah 4:10)
What feels small to you right now may actually be the very seed God wants to use to grow something life-changing. What are you telling yourself? What hurts have you experienced? How can you replace that with forgiveness and truth?
These are acorns.
An acorn doesn’t prove anything the moment it falls to the ground. It doesn’t look like a tree. It doesn’t act like a tree. But that doesn’t change what it is created to become. In the same way, your current season does not define your final outcome. Your thinking doesn’t determine who God created you to be.
You may feel hidden, hurt, buried, or even overlooked, but seeds are planted in the soil before they ever rise into something visible. Growth begins in places no one else can see. God often does His deepest work underground, through your hurts, in your character, your faith, and your trust in Him.
Inside every acorn is a design for growth. It was never meant to stay small. The same is true for you. To thrive on purpose means recognizing that:
Growth takes time, nurturing, and the right environment. But when an acorn is planted in good soil and continues to receive what it needs, growth becomes inevitable.
